The middle school girls were the first race of the day at the Old Skool Classic.  They boarded a 6:15 bus for their 8:00 start.  The fog hadn't lifted off the field when the gun went off and the runners rocketed down towards the river.  With 373 middle school girls competing in the race youth led the way for the Mustangs. Three 6th graders posted the fastest times for the team.  Frankie Sines was quickest covering the 2-miles in 15:40.  She was 32nd overall, and the 9th 6th grader to finish.  Lucy Thomson finished just 38 seconds behind her with the 15th fastest time by a 6th grade, and Ellie Barnes was the third Mustang to finish despite some adverse conditions after the first river crossing.  The 7th grade contingent was led by Lana Wilder who was followed by Elyse Swinson, Callegh McMillan, Sarah McLeod and Ellie Maurer.  All the runners finished with muddy legs, wet uniforms, and big smiles.
