Windgaston, Schneider, Werenka, and Wulff Earn MAC Blue All-Conference Honors

The high school cross country teams raced in the MAC Blue Championship races on Saturday at Lake St. Claire Metropark.
Owen Windgaston, Gideon Schneider, Charly Werenka, and Jillian Wulff earned all-conference honors by being one of top 21 runners in the race.
Owen Windgaston was 3rd overall. Gideon Schneider set PR of 19:14 for the 5k race. Charly Werenka was 10th overall and lowered her personal record by another 28 seconds. Jillian Wulff was 19th overall after runner the second fastest race ever.
The boys team finished 3rd out 18 teams in the MAC Blue. The girls did not finish a complete team and did not have a score.

Both teams will race again next Saturday at Columbus Park in the MHSAA Regional race.
Middle school XC team set PRs at Hanson's Invitational

The middle school runners battled the heat of the afternoon and athletes from 45 other teams at the Hanson's Cross Country Invitation on Saturday.
Peyton Carney, Jacob Zarnick, Alex Gabrys, Xaviar Thomas, Everett Baer, and Charlie Shepard all posted their best performances yet in the 2-mile event.
While, Azara Merritt was Clawson's top finisher, placing 11th out of 330 girls.

Trojans win XC medals at Hanson's Invitational on Saturday

The high school cross country team competed against 57 other schools on Saturday at the Hanson's Cross Country Invitational. The course was on the grounds of Parkview Christian School adjacent to Freedom Hill County park in Sterling Heights.
The day heated up quickly and Xander Frink was the only Clawson high school runner to set a personal record. Jillian Wulf was less than a second off of her PR and her effort was enough to earn her a medal. She joined Charly Werenka, Owen Windgaston and Gideon Schneider in taking home some hardware from the meet. Elizabeth Schneider had a notable run, improving her season best by nearly a minute.
