Boys Varsity Football vs. Royal Oak High School
Boys Varsity FootballThe Trojans had a BIG win against our neighbors from Royal Oak with a 10 to 7 victory on a 28 yard field goal from Oliver Buchler with 9 seconds left in the game. The Trojans scored on a 38 yard TD pass from Elliott Groves to Graysen Carroll on the opening drive in the 3rd quarter to tie the game 7 to 7. Jordan Davenport lead offensively with 4 catches for 59 yards, but also drew 2 pass interference penalties late in the game to keep moving us down the field for the game winning field goal. Nate Heath allowed the Trojans to start their game winning drive with an interception deep in Trojan territory. Dylan Huff stood his ground at defensive end to lead the Trojan defensively with 12 tackles and Graysen Carroll added 9 tackles. Big win for the Trojans as they head into the playoffs next week.

Boys Varsity FootballThe Trojans beat Eastpointe 51 to 0. Offensively, Hunter Garrison had 2 rushing TD's and Elliott Groves had 1 rushing TD. Jordan Davenport and Graysen Carroll had receiving TD's thrown by Elliott Groves. Defensively, Davenport, Garrison, and Huff had interceptions and Yales, Carroll and Shane Dunlap all recovered fumbles, with Carroll and Dunlap scoring TD's on their recoveries. Figueroa lead all tacklers with 7, 3 of them tackles for loss, and 2 forced fumbles. Oliver Buchler kicked 6 PAT's and a 28 yard field goal.

Windgaston, Schneider, Werenka, and Wulff Earn MAC Blue All-Conference Honors
CoEd Varsity Cross CountryThe high school cross country teams raced in the MAC Blue Championship races on Saturday at Lake St. Claire Metropark.Owen Windgaston, Gideon Schneider, Charly Werenka, and Jillian Wulff earned all-conference honors by being one of top 21 runners in the race.Owen Windgaston was 3rd overall. Gideon Schneider set PR of 19:14 for the 5k race. Charly Werenka was 10th overall and lowered her personal record by another 28 seconds. Jillian Wulff was 19th overall after runner the second fastest race ever.The boys team finished 3rd out 18 teams in the MAC Blue. CoEd Middle School Cross CountryThe Clawson Middle School cross country team raced in the MHSAA Zone 3 Regional at Dakota High School on Saturday.Azara Merritt and Holden Truesdell finished 5th and 6th respectively in their races and they each earned a medal to go with their All-Region honors. The team had a number of personal records set in the 2-mile event. Alex Gabrys had the biggest drop--knocking 7 minutes and 22 seconds off his previous 2-mile record, but Xavier Thomas, Everett Baer, Lilith Becker, Holden, and Azara all ran their fastest ever times at the meet. Boys Varsity FootballThe Trojans beat New Haven on Homecoming 41 to 14. Jordan Davenport lead the Trojans with 2 TD receptions and a 52 yard pick 6. Hunter Garrison lead with 69 yards rushing and a TD. QB Elliott Groves had 62 yards rushing and 2 TD's. Graysen Carroll had 4 receptions for 41 yards and tallied 9 tackles on defense. Joey Campana had 4 tackles and an interception and Nick Figueroa had a fumble recovery. Oliver Buchler kicked 5 PAT's.

Merritt Wins NCA Small School Invitational--Boys Place 2nd
CoEd Middle School Cross CountryAzara Merritt was the fastest girl in the 2-mile race on Tuesday. Her time of 13:21 was 5 seconds faster than her previous best, and 14 seconds faster than the 2nd place girl. Peyton Carney, Sydney Ottaviano, and Katie McClain, all joined her in setting PRs for the 2-mile race. In the boy's race, Holden Truesdell had a stellar performance. He dropped nearly 30 seconds off his PR from last season and was 3rd overall. Charlie Shepard was 2nd for Clawson, while Everett Baer, Joseph Schneider, Jacob Zarnick, and Xavier Thomas all set PRs. Isaac Windgaston dropped nearly a minute off his last race. The runners are seeing the fruit of their labors and are looking forward to the next meet: the Regional Meet on October 25th.

Women's Cross Country Places 2nd and Men's Team Takes 3rd at NCA Invitational at Tollgate Farm
CoEd Varsity Cross CountryThe Trojans competed against 18 teams In the NCA Small School Invitation at Tollgate Farm on Tuesday.The Women's team took 2nd behind strong performances from all 5 runners. Charly Werenka once again was the fastest Trojan finishing the race in 7th place with a time of 23:12. Jillian Wulf and Taliana Merritt both set personal records while placing 13th and 21st respectively. Elizabeth Schneider and Lucy Thomson both finished with a time of 26:21.The Men's team took 3rd place. Owen Windgaston was 2nd overall. Zack Campbell set a season record for himself and was Clawson's 2nd runner to cross the finish. Campbell, Schneider, and Chapman finished 17th, 18th, and 19th. Jordan Davenport had 2 catches, an interception, a fumble recovery, along with 7 tackles. Shane Dunlap had a pick six to put the game away in the 4th quarter for the Trojans. Oliver Buchler added 3 extra points and a field goal.

Varsity Cross Country Competes at the Oakland County Championship
CoEd Varsity Cross CountryThe Trojans made the trek to Possum Hollow Picnic Area on Saturday morning to compete against 43 other teams in the Oakland County Cross Country Championship race.Neither squad had their full team, so Clawson did not earn a team score. Individually, Charly Werenka was Clawson's fastest girl. Her 23:26 time for the 5k was the 2nd fastest of her career and was a personal course record for her on the brutal Kensington course. Owen Windgaston led the way on the boy's team. Xander Frink and Gideon Schneider both turned in impressive performances, shattering their previous Kensington personal course records.The teams will be in action next at Tollgate Farms on Tuesday.

Boys Varsity FootballThe Trojans beat Lincoln 41 to 6. QB Elliott Groves ran for 86 yards and 2 TD's, and threw for 112 yards and 1 TD. Scoring TD's for the Trojans were Hunter Garrison (2 rushing TD's), and Dylan Huff with a 5 yard TD reception, and Graysen Carroll with a 40 yard TD reception thrown by Evan Dow. Joey Campana and Jordan Davenport both had 3 receptions. Defensively, Dylan Huff had a sack and 2 tackles for loss. Senior Oliver Buchler kicked 4 PAT's and freshman Jack Haske kicked 1 PAT.

Middle School Cross Country Teams Continue to Run Faster at Fox and Hounds
CoEd Middle School Cross CountryThe middle school teams ran down the trails, over the hills, and across the fields at Orion Oaks on Saturday. Azara Merritt raced in the varsity Fox and Hounds race. In a Fox and Hounds race the race is started in 7 waves. In the first wave the slowest member of each varsity team starts, and then 20 seconds later the next wave of runners will start. This continues until the 7th wave, at which time the fastest runner on each team starts. Azara started in the 7th wave and worked her way all the up to a 30th place overall finish.The rest of the team ran a traditional cross country race--one in which all of the runners start at the same time. All of the Trojans improved their times from last week's race. Charlie Shepard, Everett Baer, Stefani Urquhart, and Kati McClain all set personal records for the 2-mile race.

High School Cross Country teams place 3rd and 4th at Brandon's Fox and Hounds Race
CoEd Varsity Cross CountryThe high school girls team finished 3rd in the Division II-III-IV race at Orion Oaks on Saturday. The race was hosted by Ortonville Brandon, and was run with a Fox and Hounds format. In a Fox and Hounds race there are 7 waves to the start of the race. In the first wave, the slowest runner from each team starts, and then 20 or 30 seconds later the next wave of runners will start. These waves continue until the last wave at which time the fastest runner will start. Charly Werenka and Jillian Wulf were both able to overcome their starting deficits and earned medals by being one of the first 20 runners to cross the line.The boys placed 4th as a team in the Division II-III-IV race. Owen Windgaston, Gideon Schneider, Steven Chapman, and Matthew McClain all finished in the top 20 and earned medals for their efforts.The runners will be back in action on Tuesday at Port Huron for the MAC Blue Jamboree #2.

Boys Varsity FootballThe Trojans lost to Madison 48 to 14. It was a tightly contested first half where the Trojans had the lead 14 to 12 for a brief period, before the Eagles took a 18 to 14 lead at halftime and never looked back. Jordan Davenport and Dylan Huff had TD receptions both thrown by Elliott Groves. Grant Sims recovered a fumble on the open kickoff.

Middle School Cross Country Runs Over the HIlls and Through the River at the Old Skool Invite
CoEd Middle School Cross CountryThe Clawson Middle School teams ran in the Old Skool Invitational at Wolcott Mill on Saturday morning.This two mile race features rolling hills and two instances in which the competitors have to run through the Clinton River to get to the other side.Azara Merritt was Clawson's fastest runner of the day. She completed the race in 13:57, and took home a medal as the 14th finisher in the Varsity Girls race. Everett Baer shone in his first 2-mile race. He was Clawson's quickest boy finishing the race in 15:28. This was not a new race for the rest of the runners, Holden Truedell, Charlie Shepard, Isaac WIndgaston, Lilith Becker, Sydney Ottaviano, and Katie McClain, had all raced the course before, but they were much faster this year. Clawson runners were on average were 2:25 faster than their times last year. The middle school will travel to Orion Oaks next Saturday to compete in the 2025 Fox and Hounds Race.
