Clawson Athletic Booster Club (CABC) is a group of parents, coaches, and community members who help raise money through various fundraisers to supplement all athletic teams at Clawson High School and Clawson Middle School.

CABC meets every month on the first Monday at 7 pm in the HS Art Room, see events for upcoming dates.

The Bill Wentz Clawson Athletic Booster Scholarship Application-Class of 2024

This scholarship commemorates Bill Wentz, a remarkable individual who served in the Korean War and ROTC before embarking on a career that seamlessly transitioned from engineering to education. For over 45 years, Bill poured his heart into teaching middle school students in Clawson Public Schools. Even after retiring, his dedication persisted through tutoring and supporting the community as the voice of the Trojans football games and a stalwart supporter of the Clawson Athletic Booster Club.

Bill's diverse passions included sports, especially Michigan State University, and a deep appreciation for the arts and music. His boundless love extended to his vast network of former students, with whom he kept in close contact, along with their families. Known for his unwavering acceptance and support, Bill's legacy lives on through his enduring passion for people.

Purpose:
The Bill Wentz Athletic Booster Club Scholarship was established to encourage student-athletes to continue their education at any accredited community college or university. This scholarship must be used towards tuition payment at the institution of the student athlete’s choice.

Amount:
The Bill Wentz Athletic Booster Club Scholarship Committee will meet each year to determine the number and amount to be awarded for the scholarship.

Eligibility:

• The student-athlete must be a graduating senior at Clawson High School who will attend college in Fall 2024.
• The student-athlete must have completed a minimum of one varsity sport during their senior year.
• The student-athlete must have a minimum career GPA of 2.5.

Criteria to be Considered:

• Participation in school and other extra-curricular activities
• Individual Character and Leadership

Method of Selection and Payment:
The application will be reviewed by the Bill Wentz Athletic Booster Club Scholarship Committee. The committee will select recipients based upon the information submitted and number of scholarships available. The scholarship check will be issued to the student upon showing proof of enrollment to the college or university of their choice. The scholarship must be used for the first semester’s tuition during the 2024-2025 school year.

A completed application must include the following:

1. The Scholarship Application
2. Two letters of support, of no more than two pages in length
3. Verified career GPA (provided by school)

Deadline:
The completed scholarship application and all materials must be submitted by 11:59 pm on Friday, May 10, 2024.
