Clawson fell to host Waterford Our Lady of the Lakes in three close sets (25-21, 25-19, 27-25) on Friday.
Alex Verner led the Trojans with seven kills, six aces and five digs, and Justice Biddle had three aces and three digs.
Aliyah Vesper had three kills, and Hayley Kauffman added two kills. Charlie Verner had three blocks, and Renata Carlesimo had nine assists.
Clawson fell behind 13-8 in the first set before and eight-point run behind Alex Verner's aggressive serving, helping give the Trojans a 16-13 advantage.
Clawson then led 23-21 late in the third set with both teams exchanging blows, but Our Lady of the Lakes, who entered the season ranked No. 9 in Division 4, held off two set points from the Trojans, edging out the visitors 27-25.
