Clawson fell to host New Haven in three sets (25-23, 26-24, 25-17) on Tuesday.

Charlie Verner led the Trojans with seven kills and seven aces, and Gabrielle Kalcec had 10 blocks and four kills. Aliyah Vesper added 12 digs and four kills.

Renata Carlesimo had 15 assists and five digs, and Ava LaMotte had eight digs.

Clawson trailed by as many as nine points in the first set, falling behind 22-13 before solid serving from Ava LaMotte and Natty Lertkasem helped bring the Trojans back within one point.

Despite losing the first set 25-23, Clawson continued its momentum into the second set, as Charlie Verner strung together three straight aces to give Clawson a 16-12 lead. The Trojans built up a 24-20 lead, but it was New Haven late in the second to take hold of the momentum, ultimately winning the second set 26-24 to take the two-set advantage.

New Haven then held off the Clawson rally, taking the third and final set at 25-17.

Clawson falls to 2-6-3 overall, and 1-1 in the MAC Silver.
