Clawson fell to Warren Mott in five sets (25-19, 23-25, 25-18, 14-25, 15-13) on Thursday.
Aliyah Vesper led the Trojans with 18 kills, 10 digs and five aces. Alex Verner, Charlie Verner and Jillian Liford each had six kills.
Anna Smith had 30 assists and four digs, and Renata Carlesimo had nine assists. Gabrielle Kalcec had six blocks.
Clawson trailed 12-9 in the fifth set before pulling ahead 13-12, but Mott held off the late rally to defeat the Trojans in five well-fought sets.
Clawson falls to 4-9-4 overall and 2-2 in the MAC Silver.
