The Clawson Cross Country Team made its way to the Possum Hollow picnic area on Saturday morning for the 60th running of the Oakland County Championship. The course is notoriously challenging with an especially long climb in the final mile of the race. The Trojans however were up to the challenge and ran hard races.
Claire Thomson took home a medal for her 16th place finish. Last year the women's championship was canceled mid-race because of a thunder storm, so this was her time running the full 5k course. Sam Brown improved her course mark by more than a minute-and-a-half and Sarah Spielbusch established a new season best of 26:59.
On the boy's side Luke Wilder, Jon Price, and Gabe Stevens, all set PRs. Luke was Clawson's number two finisher as Ryan Lodato continues to be the team's top runner in every race he enters.
