Clawson cross country has been running their miles and their hard work paid off at Algonac on Saturday morning.  Clawson had a great day on the trails around Algonac High School.

Claire Thomson was the only Trojan not to set an all-time personal record for the 5k race, but she still managed a personal course record on her way to a 4th place overall finish.  Abbey Lodato was hot on her heels finishing 5th, with a time of 20:06.  Long jump sensation, Lovelyn Ketepa, continues to learn the longer races and dropped her PR by nearly 8 minutes in her second race of the season.  Renata Carlesimo and Charlie Vernor took advantage of a break in their volleyball schedule to race with their classmates.  Their efforts resulted in the Trojans finishing 10th out of the 21 schools competing.

On the boys' side, the team was one runner short of the required 5 finishers, but the four that ran, ran their bests.  They were led by Luke Wilder who knocked 30 seconds off his PR.  The freshman trio of Caden Jones, Cole Wycoff, and Cameron Bean were, on average, six a half minutes faster than their previous bests.

The team is looking forward to their first League Jamboree on Tuesday at Freedom Hill.
