Wonderful weather, a competitive field, and lots of hard work set the stage for a lot fast times from the Clawson Trojans at the MHSAA Regional race at Coumbus County Park this morning.
Owen Windgaston shattered his old personal record by nearly a minute. His time of 17:18 earned him a medal and spot in the state finals on November 2, in Brooklyn Michigan.
Cole Wyckoff ran his final cross country race as a Trojan with his fastest-ever time of 18:32
Matthew McClain and Zack Campbell set personal records running sub-20. While, freshmen Gideon Schneider, Louis Michael, and Jamison Crottie, filled out the rest of the varsity team today, with each runner posting their fastest race ever.
In the open race freshman Kekoa Newash set a personal best for himself while Caden Jones finished his career getting faster after injury and illness set him back in previous races.
In the girls race, Charly Werenka once again led the Trojans, and dropped yet another 50 seconds off of her personal best. In a season with only 8 races in it, Charly managed to lower her PR six times. Senior Calleigh McMillan finished her high school career with her fastest time ever. Lucy Thomson had a PR of 25:52 and and Elizabeth Schneider was just behind her at 26:11.
