Once again, the Girls Varsity Track Team finished how they started, with a 1st place finish and earning 74 points at Regionals at Bishop Foley.  The team of Charlie Verner, Renata Carlesimo, Claire Thomson and Abbey Lodato ran a time of their season of 11:04.15 to have an upset at Regionals to claim 1st place and earning a spot at States.  They continued to rack up medals and points with Evie Liford earning a 3rd in discus and teammate Morgan Kleiner taking 6th.  The throwing duo added a 4th place finish in shot for Evie Liford and another 6th place for Morgan Kleiner.  Moving to the long jump, Morgan Kleiner took 8th place and teammate Lovelyn Ketepa placed 3rd with a personal record of 15’.5 inches.  Lovelyn followed that up with a 3rd in the 400 Dash with another personal record of 1:04.35.  Claire Thomson had an amazing 800 Run with a time of 2:34.68 claiming 1st place and teammate Abbey Lodato took home 2nd in the 1600 Run with another personal record of 5:44.95 and both heading to States.  Navannah Jones continued the winning streak earning a 6th place finish in the 100 HH with a personal record of 21.55 and followed it up in the 300 LH with another personal record of 59.93 seconds. Evie Liford, Renata Carlesimo, Navannah Jones and Taina Sheely took 5th place in the 4x200 with a time of 2:10.17.  Ending the night, was the phenomenal run of Renata Carlesimo, Claire Thomson, Abbey Lodato and Lovelyn who were ranked 5th at Regionals to run the time of their life of 4:37.01 to take 1st place, earning another spot at State Finals.   Stellar performance ladies and good luck to Claire Thomson, Abbey Lodato, Lovelyn Ketepa, Renata Carlesimo, and Charlie Verner at States on June 4th!
