The Clawson girls' JVB volleyball team faced a tough matchup last night against Lutheran High School Northwest's freshman volleyball team. Unforeseen challenges led to last minute lineup changes, forcing the Trojans to step into new roles and play new positions. The girls did so with can-do attitudes and they never backed down from the challenge! Attia Hardy made her debut in the middle blocker position, scoring her first kill of the season, and on her birthday no less! Saphira Jones also made her debut as an outside hitter and defensive specialist, scoring several kills and 3 digs. Grace Fisher stepped up to the service line for the first time and scored an ace. Setters Ava McGray and Fiona Vranesich did a great job being leaders on the court and running their offense, even with new hitters in the front row. Veteran hitters Me'Kyah Williams and Alaina Maloney kept up their usual great work with blocking and offensive attacks. In the end, the girls came short of a victory and were defeated 0-2. Better luck next time, Clawson! The girls will go on to face Roseville next Wednesday 9/28 in an away match.
