Clawson's stifling defense led to 24 steals and a win for the Trojans over visiting L'Anse Creuse, 50-35. Clawson was led by seniors Abbey Lodato (17 points, 8 steals and 5 rebounds), Renata Carlesimo (11 points, 4 steals), Aliyah Vesper (9 points, 5 steals and 4 rebounds) and Charlie Verner (8 points, 5 rebounds and 5 steals).
The Trojans finish the regular season 18-2 and will travel to the Cranbrook district next week and play the winner of Lamphere-Macomb Lutheran North in the District Semifinal.

Clawson girls varsity basketball team won the MAC Championship Sliver-Bronze matchup Saturday afteroon - 49-18 - over New Haven. The Trojans jumped out to a quick 20-0 lead after one quarter with defensive pressure that forced New Haven into multiple turnovers. Senior Abbey Lodato led way for the Trojans with 17 points and 7 steals, while Aliyah Vesper added 9 points. Renata Carlesimo tallied 8 points and 4 steals.

Senior Abbey Lodato nailed a 15 foot jumper with under 2 seconds remaining to seal the win for the Trojans - 53-51 over visiting South Lake. Clawson jumped out to a 13-5 lead after one quarter and battled a tough, gritty South Lake team the entire 32 minutes.
Lodato finished with 18 points, 6 steals and 5 rebounds. Charlie Verner and Renata Carlesimo added 9 points each while Aliyah Vesper tallied 8 points and 8 rebounds.

Strong defensive play led to great offensive looks for the Trojans - led by Renata Carlesimo's 16 points. The Trojans were led by three seniors - Charlie Verner (14 points and 7 rebounds), Renata Carlesimo (9 points and 5 assists) and Natalie Champine (9 points and 5 rebounds). Junior Caley Thomas added 7 points while Freshmen Maddie Pfaff and Sophomore Lexi Bailey each scored her first varsity basket.
The Trojans improve to 6-1 and will travel to Center Line on Thursday for the first MAC Silver matchup of the season.

Abbey Lodato added 6 steals and 5 assists while Charlie Verner grabbed 6 boards. Renata Carlesimo played a great floor game to lead the Trojans down the stretch. Clawson travels to Hazel Park on Thursday.
