Girls Varsity Volleyball finishes eighth at 41st Annual Tribune Tournament

Clawson finished eighth at the 41st Annual Tribune Tournament on Saturday.
Aliyah Vesper was voted co-MVP for the tournament, and finished the day with 16 kills, 12 digs and three aces. Alex Verner earned All-Tournament Team Honors.
Gabrielle Kalcec had 12 blocks and three kills, and Ava LaMotte had 28 digs and five aces. Charlie Verner had nine kills and three blocks, and Jillian Liford had seven kills and three blocks.
Renata Carlesimo had 14 assist, and Anna Smith had 11 assists.
Clawson began the day playing .500 volleyball, splitting with Shrine (15-25, 25-18) and Ferndale (25-19, 20-25). The Trojans then fell to Oakland Christian in two sets (25-22, 25-16) to finish pool play at 2-4 and qualifying for the Silver Bracket.
Clawson then met Port Huron in the Silver Bracket semi-finals, but fell in two sets (25-16, 25-21). Port Huron then defeated Clarenceville to win the Silver Bracket.
Oakland Christian defeated Bishop Foley to win the Gold Bracket, and Roeper defeated Ferndale in the Bronze Bracket final.
Clawson moves to 2-5-3 overall.
